October Meeting & Honey Roundup

October 20, 2020 - 06:00 PM

Our honey round-up this year will be virtual, so unfortunately no honey tasting. The speaker will be Cornell University Master Beekeeper John Sallay. John took up beekeeping six years ago as a hobby and now has a dozen colonies near his home in Weston, Massachusetts. He is retired from a career in private equity, venture capital, investment banking, corporate management, and management consulting. When not beekeeping, John is actively involved in local town government, numismatics, and historic preservation. John and his wife Ann have three grown children and five grandchildren, all of whom live in the Seattle area.

John’s presentation, which he originally prepared for the Cornell program last year, discusses key trends in the U.S. Honey Market including supply and demand, pricing trends, imports and exports, and the recent impact of international honey fraud.

Keep an eye on your email. All members will receive an email with a link to the virtual meeting.
